WHY MASSAGE THERAPY HELPS
What is Massage Therapy?
A massage does more than feel good for an hour. Tight muscles, bad sleep, the stress that builds up over a busy week, hands-on work can ease all of it. Not every session looks the same either. At Health Haven your RMT figures out what your body needs that day and works from there, so you're not stuck with a one-size routine every time you come in.
Soft tissue work, lymphatic drainage, hydrotherapy. Each one has its own research behind it, tied to better sleep, easier pain management, and improved circulation. So while it's tempting to think of massage as just a nice hour off, there's a real physical case for it too.
Common concerns massage may help with
- Muscle pain & tension
- Headaches & migraines
- Posture & structural issues
- Muscle spasms & strains
- Sleep pattern support
- Stress, anxiety & mood support
- Arthritis
- Repetitive strain & chronic pain

How we work
Massage Therapy at Health Haven, Toronto
Every session is adjusted to what you need, whether that's easing stress, working through pain, or supporting a specific stage of life.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage zeroes in on muscles and areas that have been under strain for a while, with firmer pressure than a lighter session.
Relaxation Massage
If your goal is to de-stress and relax tense muscles, this approach may help with general stress, sleep support, and overall relaxation.
Pregnancy Massage
Massage during pregnancy typically focuses on the physical and hormonal changes that come with it, such as low back pain, joint and muscle pain.
Pediatric Massage
Our RMT provides gentle care for the younger patients, she has handled patients as young as six years old offering tailored care.
Lymphatic Drainage
She does not offer cosmetic inch-loss lymphatic drainage, but her training allows her to safely provide therapeutic treatments that ease swelling and improve circulation.

Safety first
Is Massage Therapy Safe for You?
Massage therapy doesn't involve anything invasive, and your RMT works with you throughout the session to find pressure that actually feels right.
Before your first treatment, she'll go over your medical history along with any concerns or restrictions you have. That's what shapes the plan that gets built for you.
If something's on your mind, whether it's a health concern or just an area you're unsure about, tell your therapist before you start. She can let you know if massage is a good fit and point you toward the type of treatment that suits your needs.
Questions we hear each day
Common Queries Regarding Massage Therapy We Hear Each Day
Should I get my massage at Health Haven?
As a multidisciplinary clinic, you can pair massage with other health-promoting services here, all with a holistic approach focused on your overall health.
What parts of my body will be addressed?
You and your therapist will talk through what you'd like to work on. A typical full-body session may include your arms, back, legs, glutes, head, neck, and shoulders. You will never be touched on or near your breasts or genitals, and you're welcome to flag any area you'd rather she skip.
Will any lubricant be used?
Your therapist applies a light oil or lotion to help reduce friction and allow for smoother, deeper strokes, which may also help hydrate the skin. Let her know if you're allergic to certain oils or scents.
Will I be sore after my session?
Some people feel sore in certain areas the next day, depending on the technique and pressure used. Drinking plenty of water afterward may help, and it typically eases by the following day.
