How Nature Heals
How Does Naturopathic Medicine Work?
Old healing traditions, current research — naturopathic medicine tries to work with both. So when you sit down with a naturopathic doctor here, it's not a five-minute "here's your problem, here's a pill" conversation. They'll ask about your history, ask what your week actually looks like, what you're eating, how you're sleeping. Because the point isn't to quiet a symptom for a month and see it come back. It's to figure out why it's there.
Health Haven ( founded in 2020) operates as a holistic health clinic in Toronto. You'll always be informed exactly what a treatment involves and why it's being recommended before you start. Our naturopathic doctor is registered with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO) here in Ontario, practicing under the Regulated Health Professions Act.

WHAT WE TEST FOR
Lab Testing Recommended and Interpreted at Our Naturopathic Clinic in Toronto
Testing is part of how we build a root-cause treatment plan for naturopathic medicine in Toronto. Dr. Frank orders these through outside labs and interprets the results with you — we don't run testing on-site.
SIBO Breath Test
SIBO breath test looks for bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine - often the hidden driver behind IBS symptoms.
Digestive Stool Testing
Digestive stool testing (CDSA, microbiology, parasitology) takes a deep look at digestion, gut bacteria balance, yeast, and parasites.
Zonulin & Food Sensitivity Testing
Zonulin testing is for signs of increased intestinal permeability
Food sensitivity testing is helpful when we suspect certain foods are quietly triggering symptoms elsewhere in the body.
Hormone Testing
Hormone testing, covering everything from estrogen and progesterone to testosterone, thyroid function, and cortisol - useful for both men and women.
Adrenal & Thyroid Testing
Adrenal / HPA axis testing checks cortisol patterns across the day using saliva samples.
Thyroid testing checks whether your thyroid is working properly and converting hormone correctly.
MTHFR Genetic Interpretation
Naturopathic doctors in Ontario cannot order genetic testing directly; Dr. Frank can help you interpret results from a service like 23andMe.
How we work
What to Expect During Your Naturopathic Consultation
Every consultation starts with listening. We want the real picture of your health history, not just the headline version. Here's roughly how a visit tends to unfold:
01
Initial Intake & History (60–75 Minutes)
This is the deep-dive part. We'll go through your health history, what you're eating day to day, stress levels, how you're sleeping, and what you're actually hoping to get out of this.
02
Relevant Examinations & Lab Work
If it's needed, we'll run physical assessments and recommend specific lab tests, so we're working from real data on what's going on inside your body, not guesswork.
03
Personalized Treatment Strategy
From there, we build a plan you can actually follow including nutrition, botanical support, lifestyle changes — all shaped around how your life actually works, not a generic template.
04
Ongoing Follow-Up & Adjustments
We will continue to monitor your progress through check ins, look at new lab reports, and adjust the plan as needed.
Pricing & Packages
How Naturopathic Care Work
We treat the cause, not just the sore spot. Each plan starts with a chat and a full, hands-on exam. Then it shifts as your body shifts.

Safety first
Safe, Regulated Healthcare you can Trust
Naturopathic medicine in Ontario is regulated. Our ND is licensed through the College of Naturopaths of Ontario, which means we're held to the same accountability standards you'd expect from any other regulated healthcare provider in the province.
That licensing shapes how we practice at our holistic health clinic in Toronto. Clinical nutrition, herbal medicine, and botanical treatments are all grounded in current evidence rather than tradition alone, and our focus stays on what's actually driving your symptoms, not just quieting them for a while.
The result is care that's personalized to you — thorough, holistic, and delivered by someone qualified to actually be doing it.
